Katie received her degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida, and has enjoyed teaching and making music and happy memories with her community since graduating in 2015. Favorites include sharing music with her friends and family, joining Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Service Fraternity, marching with the USF HoT Band in the London New Years Day parade, performing at Carnegie Hall in NYC, studying oboe and English horn with Amy Collins, and participating in the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy.
Katie recently earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Central Florida and their College of Community Innovation and Education. She currently supports efforts to promote sustainability, STEAM, and enhancement of student experiences at several Job Corps Centers and is a Lead Tour Facilitator involved in design and implementation of tours at the Tampa Museum of Art for the Community Arts Education Initiative with Hillsborough County Public Schools.
While her main instrument is the oboe, Katie also loves to teach voice, keyboards, woodwinds, brass, ukulele, music theory, audition preparation, songwriting, World Music Drumming, music and movement, and more. When not practicing or teaching, she’s making art, in the garden, volunteering, or exploring a new hobby or two!
